400 swimmers enjoy Benidorm Heartbreak in Levante
400 swimmers, the maximum contemplated for the event, have participated in the sixth edition of the Benidorm Heartbreak Journey organized by the Finisher Sports Club with the collaboration, among others, of Benidorm City Council
The participants, from 135 different clubs in 110 locations, from other provinces and abroad, have enlivened Levante beach since early in the morning, which today dawned with music from 'La Movida' from the eighties, a symbol of an entire era.
Among those registered for the event, the acting mayor, Ana Pellicer, who, together with the Councilor for Sports, Javier Jordá, participated in the trophy presentation in the same place, once the athletes had refreshed themselves after the event. effort to travel the circular distance of 2,900 m parallel to the beach.
Javier Jordá has congratulated the Finisher club for "making possible" an event that stands out for the "high participation, the festive, sporting and camaraderie atmosphere" that it prints in each edition, "this year focused on 'La Movida' and "in the incomparable setting of our waters, on Levante Beach.
For his part, Fabián Villena, from the Finisher Club and host since the first edition of the test, recalled that the Heartbreak began as "a meeting of friends" that, over time, has become "an event that mixes sports and the playful, which is what Benidorm offers to the people who visit us.
Villena has expressed satisfaction with "the reception" that Heartbreak has had in the city and has thanked the support of companies and institutions "that have believed in our project and, together, we have managed to get it off the ground." Villena advocated that “there is always water and “rock and roll” in Benidorm.”
Classification
In sports, in the men's category, once again Miguel Bou, from Vila Swim Fondistas, has reached the finish line first, with a time of 0:39:50; behind him Mateo Pesques, from CA Mandarache Cartagena, with 0:43:2; and finally, Alejandro Zornoza from CN Albacete, with 0:43:35.
Regarding women. The first to finish the test was Lorena Menéndez, from RC7 Alicante, after reversing a time of 0:52:51; in second position, Gema Pérez, from Acuatic, with 0:53:20 and, in third, Gemma García, from CN Padel Arena, with 0:53:59.
For the first time, the Heartbreak Benidorm has awarded local swimmers who, in the men's category, have been Vicente Solbes, from Gladiators Benidorm, with a time of 0:43:47; Jordi Guirado, from CA Montemar, with 0:48:41; and Luis Maestre, with 0:48:55. In women, Melane Marín, from CN Albacete, crossed the finish line after swimming 0:54:47; Ángeles Pikiki López, from CA Montemar, behind with 0:56:50 and, in third position, Laura Díaz, from Finisher, with 0:59:29.
After the presentation of trophies, swimmers and organizations enjoyed the traditional post-crossing party at a famous venue in the city.
