23 works submitted to the XX Festive Music Composition Contest ‘Villa de Benidorm’
A total of 23 works have been submitted to the XX Festera Music Composition Contest 'Villa de Benidorm 2021', which in this edition has been convened in the modality of Moorish March and as a tribute to the member of Musical Unió de Benidorm, teacher and director of Unió Musical de Polop and prominent party member of the Tagarine Muslim Filà of Benidorm, Andrés Teuler, promoter of the Contest since its inception, who died in January of this year.
On August 15, the deadline for submitting works to this contest ended, which has been revealed, has been pointed out by councilor Jaime Jesús Pérez, as "a consolidated reference in the field of composition and achieving a record of participation." Pérez recalled that the contest "is organized by the Department of Culture."
The councilor has indicated that from now on "a technical jury will be in charge of selecting the winning piece of the contest that will be presented at the concert that the Benidorm Musical Union will offer on Saturday 25 September at Julio Iglesias Auditorium in Parque de l ' Aigüera ”.
The technical jury will be made up of "musicians of recognized trajectory" such as Rafael Mullor Grau, Juan Antonio Espinosa Zaragoza and Jaime Francisco Ripoll Martins.
The prize of the Festive Music Composition Contest ‘Villa de Benidorm’ consists of a trophy and 2,000 euros in cash. Benidorm City Council reserves the nomination with the definitive title for the winning march.
