The mayor highlights the effort of the students, teachers and families for "a school yera with the greatest normality" despite the exceptional circumstances derived from the pandemic
110 Primary and Secondary students, recognized with extraordinary awards and mentions for their academic results
A total of 110 students who completed their Primary and Secondary studies in Benidorm's educational centers last school year received recognition for their academic performance yesterday. The City Hall Assembly Hall yesterday hosted the delivery of the Extraordinary Awards and Mentions
Specials with which the best academic records are recognized. An act in which the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, participated, and was attended by representatives of the Corporation, directors of educational centers and families of recognized students.
The first part of the event focused on Primary school students from CEIP Ausiàs March, CEIP El Murtal, CEIP La Cala, CEIP Mestre Gaspar, CEIP Gabriel Miró, CEIP Miguel Hernández, CEIP Serra Gelada, CEIP Els Tolls, CEIP Vasco Núñez de Balboa, CEIP Leonor Canalejas, CEIP Puig Campana, CC Nuestra Señora de los Dolores and CI Lope de Vega.
Of these students, a total of 31 students received the Extraordinary Prize awarded by the Ministry to the best records in the Valencian Community, which closed last year with an average grade of 10. The rest of the students, 29 schoolchildren, have been recognized at the local level by the City Council at the proposal of the educational centers themselves for their good academic results.
Secondary students from the IES Pere Mª Orts i Bosch, IES Bernat de Sarriá, IES Beatriu Fajardo de Mendoza, IES L'Almadrava, IES Mediterrània, CC Nuestra Señora de los Dolores and C.I. Lope de Vega copó the second part of the act, in which mentions and 4 Extraordinary Awards were also awarded.
The mayor pointed out that these Awards and Mentions "recognize the extraordinary work by the students", and "the effort made by their teachers and families" that "in special circumstances" has led "to have a school year as normally as possible." Likewise, he stressed that these academic awards show that "when the necessary resources are put in to educate future generations, the results are evident."
Given the approach of Christmas, Toni Pérez asked students and families to "live" these dates "responsibly" and "take care of ourselves" to "defeat this pandemic and return to normalcy as soon as possible."
