Signed the act of reconsideration for the construction of the access link to the industrial and commercial estate

Benidorm City Council, the State Highway Unit, and the company Tecnología de la Construcción y Obras Públicas SA (Tecopsa) have signed today the act of reconsideration of the work for the construction of the access of the N-332 to the industrial and commercial state. After signing this document, the City Council informs that the works of this project will begin in the next few days, in compliance with the deadlines established in the authorization of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda.

This project, promoted and paid for by the Benidorm City Council, provides for the creation of a roundabout to access the PP 3/1 Industrial Sector from the variant of the N-332 and the Vial Discotheques, already provided for in the General Plan of 1990 and which will unite the industrial and commercial estate with Comunidad Valenciana avenue.

The construction of this access was the condition required by the Ministry to give the green light to the development of PP 3/1, which includes the construction of the shopping center designed by Unibail Rodamco. It is estimated that the development of the industrial and commercial estate will lead to the creation of more than 2,000 direct jobs and as many indirect ones.

The work was awarded by Benidorm City Council at the end of March to the company Tecopsa for an amount of 16,165,746.66 euros and with an execution period of 12 months. In addition to the roundabout and the Vial Discotheques, it has been demanded that the work includes as an improvement duplicating the current underpass of the TRAM line so that it has two lanes in each direction of movement.

Apart from paying for these infrastructures, the City Council has also assumed the acquisition of the land necessary for their construction. Practically all of the land has been obtained through mutual agreement agreements with the owners, thus facilitating the entire expropriation process.

The City Council has streamlined all the procedures and processes to meet the deadlines set out in the Ministry's authorization, which ended on May 30, avoiding the possible delay of mandatory reports from supra-municipal administrations. In fact, on April 24, the last report giving the go-ahead to the connection and the works were received, that of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana.
