Sant Antoni Festival Committee held its second 'Potato Omelet Contest' this afternoon, an initiative to raise funds in the Hermitage of Sanz with several hundred attendees. This initiative aims to bring one of the most traditional recipes of our land to neighbours, citizens, supporters and even restaurants who want to participate and show their skills when making the Spanish omelette.

The jury was made up of the president of Sant Antoni Commission, Vicente Mayor; the president of the Festes Majors Patronals, María Dolores Cano; the president of the Penyes Association, Jaime Cortés, the queens of the Festivals, Valentina Almodóbar and Laia Zamora; and the Councilor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros.

Once the deadline for submitting tortillas closed at 1:30 p.m., the jury tasted the 36 omelettes that were eligible for the contest, after which the verdict was announced. Thus, the first prize, worth 100 euros, went to Arantxa Sánchez Hernández, the second to El Roser 2024, with 75 euros, and the third to Marino Ivorra Prados, with 50 euros.

The Comissió kept an open bar with sandwiches, soft drinks, beers and mixed drinks at popular prices to liven up the day along with the performance of DJs.
