Toni Pérez has encouraged people to enjoy the gastronomic offer and affirms that it is an event “that energizes the city”

Plaza del Castell has once again been the scene of tuna snoring, specifically a 270-kilogram bluefin tuna, an event that marked the beginning of the IV Tuna Days, the second stage of Benidorm Gastronomic 2024, which are celebrated from the 12th to the 21st of this month.
The show was attended by Mayor Toni Pérez, Commissioner of the National Police, Ceferino Serrano, Senator Agustín Almodóbar, and members of the local corporation, among many other guests and curious onlookers who did not want to miss the details of the cutting. of the tuna made, as in previous years, by Atunes Fuentes.

From the Almadrabera company Juan Pablo Nicolás has been explaining the entire process in detail, an exhibition of cutting the specimen in an orderly manner, from which they extract up to 24 pieces, between noble parts and internal parts, both traditional cuts and the parts learned from The japanese culture. He has also precisely detailed each piece and the usual cooking uses according to each part of the tuna "whose quality is marked by the fat."

Some explanations have been accompanied by a 'show cooking' by the Aurrerá Group, which has prepared several dishes that the participants of these Conferences can find in the restaurants that take part in them.

After that, Mayor Toni Pérez closed the event by remembering Benidorm's fishing past, the tradition and entrepreneurship of the Fuentes family and their experience and mastery in butchering. “A trade, the almadraba, in which we become masters,” said the mayor, who added that “together with the merchant navy, it shaped our way of understanding life and the world.”

Pérez has also assured that this is “an event that energizes the city” and has sent an affectionate greeting to the productive fabric “that always collaborates so that Benidorm can offer products like these.” “We must take care of what identifies us and thank Abreca for involving thirteen establishments in making known the culinary culture around tuna,” he added.

According to the mayor, participating in these sessions is “adding assets” to Benidorm and making the city's offering more attractive. Pérez finally congratulated the 13 restaurants participating and encouraged them to participate in this gastronomic event "very much in tune with the spirit of Benidorm."

'Benidorm Gastronómico' will celebrate from today until April 21 the fourth Tuna Days, the second activity in the gastronomic calendar of local events, organized by Abreca and Benidorm City Council.

The participating establishments are El Puerto, Esturión, Gastro Urban Beach, Jardín Mediterráneo, La Arrocería de la Mejillonera, La Brasería Aurrerá, La Tapería Aurrerá, La Cava Aragonesa, Llum de Mar, Malpas, Malaspina, Mía Social Club and Pinocchio Playa.
