The presentation of the Official Book begins the countdown to Festes Majors Patronals
FMP Cultural Week continues this afternoon with a concert by SM La Nova
The Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals last night presented the Official Book of Festes Majors Patronals 2020-2021, an act that marks the countdown to the celebrations in honor of the patrons, the Mare de Déu del Sofratge and Sant Jaume Apòstol. The presentation, which took place in the City Hall Assembly Hall, was attended by, among others, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the national deputy Agustín Almodóbar; the regional deputy Manuel Pérez Fenoll; members of the Municipal Corporation; the Major and Infant Queens, Paula Pérez and Sofía Fuster, together with their Ladies of Honor; and the president of the Commission, Batiste Rostoll.
Also present at the event were the honorary president of the Commission, Francisco Llorens; the president of the Penyes Association, Adrián Romero; the bearer and the crier of the Fiestas, Vicente Fuster and Cristina Escoda; as well as representatives of 'Camareres and Mariners' de la Mare de Deú, Els Costalers de Sant Jaume and the La Barqueta Recreational and Cultural Association; majors of honor and members of the Commission.
Throughout its pages, the Official Book collects the activity of the Commission during the last two years, "sewing our festive history and as a town", as the mayor pointed out. In addition, it includes sections dedicated to the highest representatives of the Festes, the Queens and Ladies; the full program of parties; and literary collaborations on historical or festive passages and experiences signed by Vicente Ibáñez, Eusebi Chiner, Bárbara Alemany, Pascual Almiñana, Francisco Amillo, Vicenta Pérez Bayona, Rafael Alemany, Francisco Llorens, Arcadio Mora, Joan Calbo, Carlos Fararch, Rita Maris, Miguel Ribes and Magdalena Simarro.
After the presentation of the Official Book 2020-2021, today the programming of the Cultural Week of the Festes Majors Patronals continues with a concert by SM La Nova at 5.30 pm in the Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l’Aigüera. Tomorrow at the same time and in the same venue it will be the turn of the Unión Musical de Benidorm. Later, the church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna will host a Pulso y Pua recital by La Rondalla of La Barqueta Recreational and Cultural Association.
