The new year will bring better accessibility to Els Tolls neighborhood, green areas and more parking spaces

This morning the works of the Asphalt Plan have started in the city that coincide in the popular Els Tolls neighborhood with the improvements in accessibility, expansion of green areas and the construction of a new parking lot that will serve more than 300 vehicles.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councillor of Works and Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, along with municipal technicians, have made a tour of the neighborhood to check the progress of some actions that will improve the quality of life of neighbors and visitors.

Asphalting h4>
The asphalt pavers have been installed in the first hour on Iceland Street. With this action, which involves an investment of 580,000 euros as a whole and for the entire city, the roadway of the streets, Municipi, Finland, Belgium, Portugal and France will also be improved.

Parc dels Ametllers h4>
The expansion of the Parc dels Ametllers, a project included in the Participatory Budget of 2018, involves an investment of 151,388.76 euros that will expand the green and leisure space located on the avenue of Italy. It is an action that completes the pedestrian itinerary that runs parallel to the trenet road. With this work the green zone will be extended and several masonry walls will be built. In addition, a new ecological public lighting system will be installed and the rainwater and irrigation networks, landscaping and pavement will be improved.

Advances in green areas also reach the playground of Avenida de Andalucía where the child safety pavement is being replaced, within a joint plan that will affect the entire municipality.

More and better parking h4>
Els Tolls will soon have a new public parking area in Italia street. For this purpose, a plot has been adapted that will allow the free parking of more than 300 vehicles in order to decongest a neighborhood with a high density of traffic due to its proximity to the urban center, bus station, sports facilities, educational centers of the Salt de l'Aigua and the new Parc de la Séquia Mare.

The City Council is also upgrading and improving the facilities of the 'pipicán' adjoining with new gardening and improvement of signage.

Accessibility h4>
Another of the actions planned in Els Tolls in the Participative Budget 2018 is the Neighborhood Accessibility Plan, with a budget of 224,000 euros. With this plan, the neighborhood will be 100% accessible after all architectural barriers are removed after the creation of lugs and recesses at the crossings. During these days will act at the intersections of the streets France, Greece, Switzerland and Holland, and also in France with Portugal and Iceland with Alfonso Puchades.
