New edition of the 'Boot Camp Surfea Benidorm DTI' to lead regenerative and smart tourism

04 July 2025
Nueva edición del ‘Boot Camp Surfea Benidorm DTI’ para liderar el turismo regenerativo e inteligente

The city of Benidorm will host a new edition of the 'Surf Benidorm DTI Boot Camp' next week to lead the way in regenerative and smart tourism. In this way, the city is once again committed to innovation in the field of tourism, as a pioneer in the development of smart tourism destinations (DTI), as stated by the Councillor for Innovation, Aida García Mayor.

The 'IV Surf Benidorm DTI Boot Camp' will take place from July 7 to 11. During these five days, professionals, technicians, and industry leaders will delve into the first regenerative experience recommender, a data-sharing space that incorporates validated information from various local impact observatories and acts as a demonstration centre for data from the Smart Office DTI.

In this regard, Aida García Mayor emphasised that "with this program, Benidorm strengthens its leadership as a living laboratory for smart, regenerative, and connected tourism, demonstrating that collaboration and technology are key to the future of smart tourism destinations."

Among the modules and topics covered during this Boot Camp, attendees will interact in various sections. First, with the "Regenerate Positive Impact Module," aimed at analysing observatories and tourism intelligence units with indicators that assess impact in three dimensions: environmental, social, and economic.

The second will be the "Data Sharing Space and Federated Platforms Module," with the presentation of initiatives such as Gaia X - Fiware, which enable data interoperability between different territorial levels, connecting destinations, administrations, and businesses.

The 'Interactive Smart Cube Module' will analyse the operation and testing of the first 'smart cube' that evaluates positive impact indicators and recommends regenerative experiences for different Segittur use cases (Gastronomy, MICE, and blue tourism).

Finally, the 'Open Innovation and AI Module' incorporates the presentation of the BeCiTi hub into the program, a space for sharing smart solutions and fostering open innovation between public and private stakeholders promoted by Benidorm City Council.

The 'IV Surfea Benidorm DTI Boot Camp' program will conclude with the presentation of results and the closing ceremony, highlighting regenerative tourism intelligence solutions and paving the way for future innovative initiatives in the Marina Baixa.

There are limited places to participate in the program, and those interested can register now at: https://forms.office.com/e/KvvJfN6NmZ
