Culture revives the 'Benidorm en Dansa' festival with a night of dancing featuring all the local dance academies
This summer, Benidorm City Council's Department of Culture has revived the "Benidorm en Dansa" event to offer the public a night of dancing featuring students from all of the city's dance schools, as well as those from the Municipal Elementary Dance Conservatory. The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, met today with representatives of the various academies participating in this evening to outline all the details. He invited the public, "both Benidorm residents and tourists and those visiting us these days, to come to L'Aigüera Park to enjoy this show."
Jaime Jesús Pérez explained that 'Benidorm en Dansa' "draws on the festival that Benidorm City Council organized for years until almost three decades ago, when it was no longer part of the municipal cultural activities. Now," he added, "we've decided to revive it because we believe our city has high-quality dance academies and schools." He also stated that "all these academies together can offer a show worthy of major companies, which we at the Department of Culture want to help promote."
The festival will take place next Thursday, July 10, starting at 9:30 p.m., in the Julio Iglesias Auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera. This public space will become the perfect stage for this outdoor dance performance, an evening filled with rhythm, elegance, and body language. With the city of Benidorm and the evening setting as a backdrop, attendees will enjoy a carefully curated selection of choreographies in a variety of styles, from classical ballet to modern, boogie, and contemporary dance. The program will be tailored to suit the tastes of a diverse audience led by students from Pilar Segura, Paqui Mora, Lope de Vega, Rosa Martínez, María José Moya, Boogie Block schools, and the Municipal Elementary Dance Conservatory.
The Councillor for Culture announced that admission is free of charge until capacity is reached and expressed his confidence that "Benidorm en Dansa" will once again become an essential event for lovers of art, culture, and movement, in a unique open-air setting."
