Minute of silence in Benidorm for the woman and her son killed in Adeje (Tenerife)

This afternoon, at the gates of Benidorm City Council, the municipal corporation with its mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll, have led the minute of silence in memory of the latest victim of gender violence in Spain. Representatives from different political groups and public workers participated in the rally.

The events occurred on Tuesday in a cave lost in Barranco del Burro, in the municipality of Adeje (Tenerife). On this occasion, the victims are a 39-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son, both of German nationality, who were allegedly beaten to death by their ex-father and 43-year-old father. The small son, six years old, managed to flee and relate what happened after he had been wandering around the bush for around five hours. The alleged murderer separated from the victim has been living for some time in the town of Tenerife received the visit on Monday from Germany of his ex-wife and two children. To find the corpses, it was necessary to participate in 100 people and two helicopters due to the difficulty of the terrain. It is expected that the aggressor will go to court this Friday, according to sources informed by the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands.

From the Department of Equality reminds women who may be facing a case of abuse, they can go to municipal services and also resort to the toll-free number 016 against gender violence. The call is not reflected in the telephone bill, but it is advisable to delete it from the list of calls from mobile phones.
