Maresía duo enchants the public with Chopin pieces at Benidorm Great Recitals

Culture resumes programming on April 4 with Ensemble il Valenciano
Benidorm cellist Laura Vidal and Alicante pianist Carla Gómez, who form the duo Maresía, filled the Auditorium of Benidorm City Hall with an audience this Friday to enjoy their concert dedicated to the Franco-Polish composer Frédéric Chopin, considered one of the greatest representatives of musical romanticism. The concert is part of the cycle of Great Recitals organised by the Department of Culture of Benidorm City Hall, which attracts great national and international performers to the city with a long career, and promoting musical culture.
The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, attended the concert together with other representatives of the municipal government, who enjoyed the virtuosity of both performers, musically trained in the province of Alicante, as well as in other schools in Europe, such as Bari, Warsaw or Ghent. The audience enjoyed every piece performed with applause at numerous points during the evening.
In the concert, Maresía offered a repertoire dedicated entirely to Chopin, which they opened with the very popular ‘Nocturne’ in E flat Major (Opus 9, Number 2), followed by works such as ‘Sonata’ in G Minor (Opus 65 for cello and piano), ‘Prelude’ in A Minor (Opus 28 Number 4), ‘Nocturne’ in F Minor (Opus 55 Number 1), ‘Introduction and Brilliant Polonaise’ (Opus 3), ‘Etude’ (Opus 25 Number 10) and ‘Waltz’ (Opus 64 Number 3).
The next appointment of Great Recitals will be on April 4 and performed by Emsemble il Valenciano with Gonzalo Devesa, oboe, and Graham Jackson, piano.
