This morning the Societat Musical l'Illa de Benidorm offered a concert that, under the title of 'Serra Gelada, música al voltant d'un abisme', allowed us to discover the secrets of the mountain and, at the same time, enjoy the sound of the band directed by its owner, Felipe Lanuza.

The concert, framed within the events of the 699th anniversary of the Carta Pobla, took place in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall and, among those in attendance, was the mayor, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and others. members of the corporation and the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate.

The musical program has been composed of the pasodoble 'L'entrà de la murta', by Salvador Giner Vidal; the band composition of 'Stonage', by Sara Galiana; the symphonic poem 'Paradise', by Óscar Navarro; 'Symphony number 9 of the New World', by Antonín Dvorak; 'Colorist Dance', by Rafael Mullor Grau; and the 'Hymn of Benidorm', by Joaquín Belda.

Behind the musicians, the stage has been reproducing images of the Serra Gelada and, before each performance, expert specialists in various subjects have revealed some of the secrets of this enclave between the areas of Benidorm and l'Alfàs del Pi.

Thus, the philologist Xavier Llorca Ibi, the geologist Juan Antonio Marco Molina, the archaeologist Carolina Frías Castillejo, José Santamaría Santa, from the environmental education team of the Natura Park, and the photographer Jaume Fuster took the floor. All of them have shared their knowledge about such a unique mountain range that we must, together, preserve for future generations.
