The Department of Culture of Benidorm City Council has scheduled for this Friday the 23rd, within the Great Recitals cycle, the concert of a newly created ensemble that is born from the experience and musical maturity combined through the extensive experience of its members: Kinetic Percussion Duo.
The councilor Jaime Jesús Pérez has highlighted their "virtuous style, energy and intensity of their performances" as the characteristics that define him in his staging.
Kinetic Percussion Duo is made up of Adrián García Mesa and Rafa Mayans. The long professional career of both guarantees the quality of their artistic results. To their credit, the 2015 Percute award; the Euterpe Valencian Community; and the first prize of the Alicante Concert Society. In addition, they were finalists of Juventudes Musicales de España, won the first Villa de Cox Interpretation prize and reached the final of the Intercentros España.
Rafa Mayans and Adrián García Mesa have worked in different professional groups such as the Valencia Orchestra, Barcelona Liceo Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony, Pablo Sarasate Orchestra, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Alicante Symphony, Zyklus Percussion, Kimbala and Amsterdam Percussion Group among others. The Kinetic Percussion Duo repertoire encompasses a wide range of genres consisting of the duo's own compositions, arrangements of classical works by Bach, Ravel and Chopin, as well as original works of contemporary music.
The concert of the Great Recitals Cycle will take place this Friday, at 8:00 p.m., in Julio Iglesias Auditorium in Parque de l’Aigüera. This same stage will host on Saturday the concert tribute to Pep “el Carreró” that the Societat Musical l’Illa will offer.
