The students attended two performances of ‘La loca historia de la literatura’, by the company ‘Teatro de Poniente’

'Joves Espectadors' cycle brings together around 800 secondary school students in the auditorium of Benidorm Cultural Center

El ciclo ‘Joves Espectadors’ reúne a cerca de 800 estudiantes de Secundaria en el auditorio del Centro Cultural de Benidorm

Around 800 students from most of the city's public and private secondary schools were introduced to theatre through a new edition of "Jóvenes Espectadores" series, promoted by the Departments of Culture and Education. The initiative took place last Friday.

Throughout the morning, the students, divided into two sessions at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., attended a performance of "La loca historia de la literatura," presented by the "Teatro de Poniente" company. This dynamic, fun, and educational performance, which explores the great works and authors of world literature in an engaging and accessible way for young people, "becomes an excellent opportunity to complement the curriculum from an artistic perspective," stated the Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez.

The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, highlighted that “this initiative allows us to bring theatre closer to hundreds of young people in the municipality year after year,” thus continuing to fulfil the objective of “familiarising young audiences with the performing arts through plays that also have an educational component.”

For her part, the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, explained that this series “is one of the proposals that the City Council offers to Benidorm's schools throughout the year to complement their curricular activities and also serves as a meeting point for students from the different schools in our city.”

On March 13, the ‘Jóvenes Espectadores’ activity will continue with primary school students from the city's schools, and around 900 students from most schools are expected to attend.
