The City Council has initiated the procedure to award the concession for a period of four years
Foietes Park expands its offering and will include a bar-café service

Benidorm City Council's Local Government Board has approved the start of the tender process for the bar service at the kiosk located in Foietes Park. This process will be carried out through both an ordinary and restricted procedure. The awarding of this four-year concession aims to "increase the leisure offerings at this park, which we have provided with new facilities and shaded areas in recent months," explained José Ramón González de Zárate, Councillor for Parks and Gardens.
This new tender is being launched to serve users of the park's public facilities. The estimated value of the contract is €50,944, and the tender is published on the contracting profile. Likewise, an annual fee of €4,000 has been set, which the experts who prepared the specifications consider "fair" since, for the four-year concession, the renovation work on the kiosk—which is open-plan and without any installations—must be amortised over that period.
The specifications have incorporated criteria so that bidders "make an effort to increase the quality of their proposals" because they must compete with the professional efforts of other companies in the bid, the councillor indicated. Thus, regarding the mathematical criteria, a maximum of 49 points will be awarded for any improvement in the annual fee payable.
Furthermore, a maximum of 31 points will be awarded for the experience of the personnel in charge of the actual execution of the contract, with five points awarded for each full year of demonstrated experience. The creation of a menu of snacks, lunches, meals, and drinks will be awarded a maximum of ten points, and the creation of a menu for people on a diet, including its prices, will also be awarded a maximum of ten points.
González de Zárate emphasised that Foietes Park "is an area where there are already many leisure options, with picnic areas, shaded areas, swings, bio-healthy elements, etc. In other words, it is aimed at people of all ages, so having a bar service nearby for users is a great idea and will be an excellent complement."
Thus, the councilor added, "the city's main parks will have restaurant services available; when the Sèquia Mare camping area is completed, there will also be one there, as there already is in Rincón de Loix with the cafes around the Antonio López soccer fields, or in the area around L'Aigüera Park, where there are also a large number of cafes for users."
