A new remittance will be approved shortly, after extending the credit from 40,000 to 80,000 euros
Employment resolves the first grants for the creation of new companies, which reach nearly 40 entrepreneurs
Beneficiaries receive between 800 and 1,200 euros in grants
The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm has resolved the first remittance of municipal grants to support the creation of new companies and the self-employed and which are aimed at entrepreneurs who have started their activity in the city in the first three quarters of 2022. This first consignment has reached nearly 40 entrepreneurs who, depending on the case, have received the aid of 800 or 1,200 euros.
The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, indicated that "with this remittance, which has amounted to 38,800 euros, 39 entrepreneurial projects have been attended to that have already completed at least four months of activity"; and she announced that "shortly the second remittance for beneficiaries will be released, having recently approved expanding the initial credit of this aid by an additional 40,000 euros." In this way, the City Council will allocate 80,000 euros to these aids.
Among the 39 projects launched until September 2022 and included in this first remittance, there are food establishments; shops; health; hairdressing and aesthetics; hospitality and services, advertising activities, photography, media, and public relations; economic and commercial consultancy; digitization; or educational and language services.
Gómez recalled that "during the pandemic, and given the difficult economic and labor situation generated by the health crisis, it was decided to double the amount of aid to promote the implementation of new activities in Benidorm at particularly hard times." Thus, the aid went from 400 to 800 euros and from 600 to 1,200 euros depending on the cases, "amounts that we have decided to maintain in the successive calls that we have made since then."
In this way, entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm and registered in the city receive 800 euros of help; while those who also process an opening license at the City Council receive 1,200 euros. In addition, an aid of 800 euros is also granted to the self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm, who are not registered in the city, but who process the license to open their business in the municipality.
The councilor has stressed that "these direct grants are one of the lines of support for new business initiatives developed by the Agency for Employment and Local Promotion, which also provides constant advice to people who decide to take this step and offers a space ' coworking' to entrepreneurs so they can start their activity”.
