The first edition of the 'Classics at 9' cycle ended last night with the concert starring Conrado Moya, Mariano García and Aniana Jaime in the Cultural Center auditorium. The activity, framed in the XXXV International Music Course that has been held these days in the city, has had great attendance.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, attended yesterday the concert that put the end to the Course and the International Music Competition and was accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and several members of the municipal corporation. Before the concert, an award was presented to the former director of the International Music Course, Pepe Fuster, who was in charge of it until last year.

The award was presented by the mayor and the councillor of Culture, who highlighted the honoree's “effort, work, dedication and passion” in these years at the head of the International Music Course and Competition.

Jaime Jesús Pérez also indicated that Benidorm “has been the international capital of music this week” and highlighted the “long musical tradition of the city, with three bands and more than 600 students and students, who are the quarry of the future.” “Many of them have already been recognized internationally,” he added. Regarding the course and the competition, he said that they are “a source of pride for Benidorm” and praised “the great level of competition.”

At that point, he congratulated Carla Román, the winner, and Nuria Ruiz and Rodrigo López, the other two finalists. López won the Audience Award. Finally, he also thanked José Antonio Gonzaga, director, “for this course that is ending, which will be the first of many to come because we are already working for next year.”

As for the program, in the first part, Conrado Moya performed with his marimba the work 'Udacrep akubrad' by Aunar Dorman, 'Sculpture 3' by Rudiger Pawassar and 'las ninfas de Nisa' by José Luis Greco. In the second part, Mariano García, on sax, and Aniana Jaime, on piano, performed the first movement of 'Sonata number 1' Opus 120 by Johannes Brahms, 'L'eveil de la Toupie' by Vicent David and the fourth movement from Sergey Prokofiev's 'Sonata for Flute and Orchestra' Opus 94.
