Concerts, workshops and children's entertainment, the proposal of 'Estiu a l'Hort' for August

02 August 2022
Hort de Colón.

Concerts of various genres, very diverse workshops and animations aimed at children are the proposals for the month of August of the cycle 'Estiu a l'Hort', promoted by the Department of Historical Heritage with the collaboration of the Culture department and from the beginning of July is taking place in l'Hort de Colón.

The mayor of Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, pointed out that "during the month of July all the proposals for 'Estiu a l'Hort' have been very well received and we are convinced that the same thing will happen in August since we continue offering a varied program for all types of public in a very special enclave for Benidorm residents such as our Hort de Colón, which is already a reference space for cultural and leisure activities”.

As detailed by the mayor, "this month of August, the Thursdays of 'Estiu a l'Hort' will be reserved for workshops, all of them free and in which prior registration is required." “If last month we had an art workshop given by Tito Pérez Mora, another on photography directed by Lucía Morate and one on artisan stamping by Naranja&Madera, for August we propose workshops on music, gastronomy, photography and interpretation, all of them directed by recognized professionals”, has advanced.

To participate in these workshops you just have to register at the email estiualhort@gmail.com.

The first of these workshops, on African percussion led by Paúl, is being held this Thursday, the 4th, at 6:30 p.m. On the 13th, at 7:00 p.m., it will be the turn of the summer kitchen, taught by Verónica Pardo; and a week later, at the same time, there will be a portrait workshop by the photographer Valiente Verde, author of the images in the exhibition 'Made to last' exhibited last year at the Espais d'Art Urbà. Finally, on Thursday the 25th, the Benidorm actor Miguel Such will offer a theatre workshop.

Music will be the star of the show on Saturdays, beginning this week with jazz by the Vera Lu Trio at 9:00 p.m. The following week, on the 13th, it will be time for classical music with the Salzillo Quartet. Jazz will return to l'Hort de Colón with Jesús Martínez, and the film melodies performed by Scordadúo Group will close the cycle of concerts. Admission to all these recitals is free until full capacity is reached.

Children's animations complete the program 'Estiu a l'Hort'. The first appointment will be on Sunday the 7th at 8:30 p.m., with the proposal ‘Som Açi’ by Mundo Epi Epi A!. Seven days later, at the same time, Barquito de Colores will perform 'Princess Sukimuki'; while Factor Onírico will take the stage at l'Hort de Colón with his 'Mili reportera superstar', and Iván Arguedas will do the same on the 28th with 'Cuentos contentos'.
