Mayor Toni Pérez has welcomed them and wished them a happy service in Benidorm

Benidorm will have in August with 4 officers of the Police Nationale of France and the Police of Public Security of Portugal

02 August 2022
Policías de Francia y Portugal.

They will patrol jointly with agents of the National Police in preventing on public roads and attention to tourists of their nationalities

Agents from the National Police, the French Police Nationale and the Portuguese Public Security Police, within the framework of the "European Police Stations" project and as a reinforcement of Operation Summer 2022, jointly patrol Benidorm to increase attention to the foreign citizens and guarantee greater security for tourists. It is a process of international collaboration in which, as on previous occasions, foreign troops are assigned to areas of great tourist influx, such as Benidorm, during the summer months.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, greeted this morning the new French and Portuguese agents who, as of today, have been integrated into the police officers deployed this summer in Benidorm.

For a few minutes, he chatted with them, welcoming them to Benidorm and wishing them happy service in the city. He was accompanied by commanders and members of the National Police Corps in Benidorm, with the commissioner Ceferino Serrano Torres, and the Councilor for Citizen Security of the Benidorm City Council Lorenzo Martínez Sola

The four agents patrol with their respective national uniforms, in such a way that they are easily recognizable by citizens from both countries. They do it on foot and in vehicles in teams with agents of the Spanish National Police. The mission is to prevent crime on public roads by making contact with citizens in general, but particularly with tourists of their nationalities, those who assist in translation work and those who help in any other situation.

These foreign policemen also patrol in their national service uniforms, in such a way that they are easily recognizable by citizens from both countries.
