This is an initiative to raise funds for the organization of the celebrations next November
The Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals celebrates its traditional 'Euro Marathon' this Saturday

Benidorm Patron Saint Festivities Commission will hold the traditional "Euro Marathon" this Saturday, September 20th. This initiative aims to raise funds for the Patron Saint Festivities next November. The fundraising initiative is supported annually by the city's hospitality establishments, businesses, residents, and tourists. This new edition of the "Euro Marathon" will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tomás Ortuño Street, near the Hort de Colón district. The event will begin collecting all the euros donated by residents for the organisation of the festivities, which will take place from November 8th to 12th.
The councillor for the department, Mariló Cebreros, explained that the 2025 Festes Majors Patronals queens, Paula Pascual Sánchez and Aitana Pérez Guitiérrez, and their courts of honour will participate in the kickoff of this unique "marathon"; the president of the Festes Majors Patronals, Susana Martínez, and the members of the Municipal Corporation, "to support, as it could not be otherwise, this initiative so that next November we can have the best Fiestas."
For this reason, Cebreros also publicly invited the public to collaborate with the Festes Commission and encouraged collaborating individuals and companies to come to l'Hort de Colón during this festive day to deposit their donations in one-euro coins. She also noted that, as usual, the queens and their ladies-in-waiting will visit the establishments in the commercial areas to collect donations.
The councilor indicated that "in addition to collaborating by making this donation in the form of euro coins, those who wish to do so can also visit the bar that the Commission will set up and enjoy a sandwich or a soft drink with the mayorales and mayoralas," while there is also the initiative "Un metre per la festa" (A Meter for the Party), with which clubs, businesses, groups of friends, etc. can participate by contributing 43 euros, which is the equivalent of one linear meter, to the collection.
