City Council and concessionaire raise awareness of water savings to more than 22,000 subscribers

Hidraqua opens on June 12 its new offices in Alfonso Puchades

Benidorm City Council and the water supply and sewage concessionaire, Hidraqua, have started a campaign to raise public awareness about water saving. The Water Cycle Councilor José Ramón González de Zárate and Hidraqua manager in Benidorm, Javier Díez, explained that this campaign will appear on the back of the paper or digital invoices received quarterly by more than 22,000 homes and establishments subscribers of the city.

It is a campaign of "fundamental and simple messages" on how to save water in everyday tasks and that has been designed for the company by the graphic artist Ortifus. Apart from the back of the invoices, the campaign will be inserted in the websites of Ayuntamiento and Hidraqua. In addition, 200 posters of the campaign will be delivered to the communities of neighbors, will be screened the vehicles of the concessionaire and will be disseminated in the media.

De Zárate has indicated that "although this year we do not have drought problems" it is important to "continue to raise awareness" about the rational use of water resources in basic day to day actions. The messages of the campaign are: 'Turn off the tap when you do not use it', 'Do not fall asleep in the shower', 'Grow native plants',' Water in the early evening ', and ' Tall grass decreases evaporation '.

The manager of Hidraqua has recalled that the company carries out savings campaigns every year, adding that its effectiveness is "a proven fact". "In recent years the population has doubled but we have achieved savings and efficiency of 20%, which is 3 cubic hectometres of water, which is consumed annually by a city of more than 50,000 inhabitants."

During the press conference, the councilor and the head of Hidraqua have announced that as of June 12 the offices of the company will be located in Alfonso Puchades Avenue number 3, very close to other public services such as SUMA, the Tax Agency or The premises of the concessionaire of the street cleaning and the garbage collection, Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC).

With the opening of this office the new appointment service will be launched, which may be requested on the company's website. Through this service the customer can choose day and time to be attended within business hours - from 08.30 to 13.30 hours. The company also has the free number 900 210 100 for commercial transactions and 900 101 270 for reporting incidents 24 hours a day. Also as a novelty, an interpretation service has been incorporated

In addition, the alert service - Servialertas - is still operational via email or SMS; and the 12 Drops Plan has been launched so that the subscriber chooses to pay a fixed amount per month that will be regularized at the end of the year. Finally, remember that an agreement was signed for the self-assessment of municipal taxes and that farm managers have a personalized service.
