BeniMov positions Benidorm as a benchmark for the European Mobility Week

The Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, has inaugurated this morning BeniMov Forum that yesterday held its first working table to present Mega Courier Project, which Benidorm is home to, and, at night, welcomed the sponsors and cast of speakers at the Opening Party.

González de Zárate said that “there is always a first time” and that for Aico's initiative it is this, ensuring municipal support for “a first level event, for the quality of the speakers” and that will position Benidorm in the face of the imminent European Mobility Week that starts on Monday.

The councillor said the four axes of work of his department, which come to coincide with the spirit that animates BeniMov, and that revolve around aspects "mobility, accessibility, pedestrian protection and energy savings." He insisted that the effort of Benidorm goes in these directions and thanked the Municipal Services for the work in these fields.

"Pedestrianization, Accessibility, electric chargers, zones 30, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan and transport and road safety plans are realities that we put in place and ensure its validity," he said in conclusion.

Previously, the president of Aico, Raúl Parra, had welcomed the attendees to the Forum. Antonio Pérez Collar, of Chance & Choices, presented the moderator, Pedro Moraleda, energy analyst, who moderates the Forum.

Moraleda presented the deputy of the Environment, Miguel Ángel González, who presented the lines of the supramunicipal program based on “minimizing environmental impacts” through the provincial plans for Sustainable Energy and Energy Saving, based on the Covenant of Mayors for Energies and campaigns for the rational use of them that seek social awareness.

Timoteo de la Fuente, an engineer from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, developed the inaugural presentation highlighting the uniqueness of Benidorm and its commitment to mobility and sustainability, highlighting that the electric vehicle has a broad spectrum of future and that the European Union, with A Horizon 2020 plan seeks to position itself at the highest level in the area of ​​electric accumulators.

He pointed out that "for Spain the correct energy transition in mobility is a challenge" and that the ministry, despite its lines of work, maintains the spirit of technological neutrality.

The exhibition panels and the exhibition tables will continue to develop throughout the day today and tomorrow, with the closing scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday, after the intervention of the Vice President of the European Investment Bank, Emma Navarro, by the Mayor Toni Pérez.

BeniMov Fair will open tomorrow Saturday at 11.00 in the morning.
