The subsidy, financed 100% by the Provincial Council, aims to minimize the impact of the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine

Benidorm will allocate 647,000 euros in aid to SMEs and small businessmen and the self-employed

Benidorm destinará 647.000 euros en ayudas a pymes y pequeños empresarios y autónomos

Benidorm City Council will allocate 647,278 euros in aid to SMEs, micro-SMEs, self-employed workers, and professionals to minimize the economic impact caused by the current energy crisis and increased costs caused by the war in Ukraine. These aids will be 100% financed by the Provincial Council of Alicante, as stated in the Resolution of the call, published in the BOP on September 19.

Now, the Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm City Council has approved the regulatory bases for the granting of this aid, as well as the approval of the necessary expenditure for it. The resolution has already been sent to the BOP and once published, a period of five days will open for interested parties to submit their applications.

The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, has highlighted the "sensitivity of this government and the Provincial Council towards the productive fabric and entrepreneurship, especially in times of uncertainty and economic difficulties like the one we are going through now." In that sense, the councilor has insisted that supporting companies and entrepreneurs “has always been a priority for this City Council.”

Gómez recalled that administrations must be "at the side of the productive fabric", especially in crises like the current one "in which we see that costs and prices rise continuously." For this reason, the councilor wanted to make it clear that both the City Council and the Provincial Council "ensure that we will continue to serve and support our productive sector to strengthen it in difficult times."

In her opinion, “in an economic situation like the current one, it is even more necessary than ever to facilitate and encourage the correct development of economic activities to continue creating employment and providing continuity to companies of all types and sizes.” In this way, "we show once again our support for professionals, companies and self-employed workers who are committed to their activity in Benidorm, especially in situations of economic crisis."
