Benidorm Red Cross volunteers clean the Moralet area
Volunteers of the Environment Area of the Local Section of the Red Cross in Benidorm have organized this Sunday a cleaning in the area of El Moralet to remove the waste accumulated in recent months, after the opening by the City Council of the paths designed for the practice of sports.
Recently, representatives of the Red Cross Local Assembly held meetings with the Departments of Environment and Education involved in waste collection.
Mónica Gómez pointed out that, in El Moralet, "twelve volunteers" participated, including the coordinator of the Red Cross, Carmen Luna, and the support of the Municipal Rural Guardian.
The volunteers, between 9.00 and 12.00, "divided into three groups", acted on "approximately one hectare of land, collecting containers of all kinds, plastics, even masks." Mónica Gómez recalled that the users of these areas "have the obligation to collect waste and subsequently deposit them in containers and bins."
Gómez valued the Red Cross action very positively. "About ten-dozen bags were collected in the morning that will now be transferred to the recycling points by the garbage dealership, FCC, "she clarified.
