Around two hundred people have participated this afternoon in the ‘March against Gender Violence’ organized by the Association of Housewives of Benidorm with the collaboration of the Department of Equality. Among the participants, the mayor, Toni Pérez, the councillor of Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, members of the government team, the president of the housewives, Vini Pérez, and representatives of various social groups.
At 6:00 pm at the main gate of the Town Hall, Ángela Zaragozí has addressed the people gathered to thank the “important” support received in the commemoration of November 25. Zaragozí has pledged “to continue fighting to sensitize the whole society of the serious problem of male chauvinist violence” and, he added, “we will not stop until there are no more victims.
After the intervention of the mayor, a manifesto has been read and remembered, naming them aloud, to the 52 victims of gender violence in our country in what we have been doing for 2019. Next, the participants have directed the march towards the Plaza de la Hispanidad, Paseo de Levante and Avenida de Europa, where it has ended.
