Benidorm commemora el 'Dia Internacional del Llibre' amb una lectura virtual d'El Quixot...

Benidorm commemorates this Friday, April 23, the ‘International Book Day’ with a virtual public reading of ‘Don Quixote’. The Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, has indicated that "for the second consecutive year and due to the circumstances derived from the pandemic, this commemorative act open to all citizens will be carried out electronically." In addition, "to give it greater diffusion and bring this public reading closer to the population, it will be broadcast live through the City Council's Facebook page."

The reading will begin at 12 noon and will last until 2:00 p.m., taking place through the Zoom videoconference platform.

Pellicer has encouraged citizens "to join this commemoration, either actively participating in the reading or viewing it through social networks, and even sharing it." "Books have given us shelter, company and relief since the pandemic began, especially in the hardest moments of confinement, and that is why this commemoration now takes on even more meaning, if possible," she added.

In order to be able to organize this public reading correctly, those interested in participating in it must previously communicate it via email to the email library@benidorm.org, indicating their name and contact. Before the start of the reading, they will receive a link that will give them access to the videoconference.

Pellicer explained that "the reading will begin at the point where it was last year, at the end of chapter 9, in which we left Alonso Quijano in the middle of a fight with the‘ gallardo vizcaíno ’. From here on we will accompany the protagonist and his squire Sancho de el in new and bizarre adventures ”.
