Benidorm celebrates All Saints' Day

01 November 2021
Festividad Todos los Santos

In a day marked by good weather conditions, Benidorm has celebrated today All Saints Day with masses in  Sant Jaume and Mare de Déu del Sofratge cemeteries, which in recent days have received the visit of a large number of residents who have come to these facilities to remember their deceased. At 12.30 pm, the priest of San Francisco de Benidorm parish has officiated a mass in Sant Jaume cemetery, which was attended by, among others, the acting mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the councilor for Cemeteries, Angela Llorca At 5:00 p.m., the religious acts move to Mare de Déu del Sofratge cemetery, where another mass will be celebrated in memory of all the deceased in the city.
On the occasion of All Saints Day, from last Friday until tomorrow, November 2, the cemeteries in Benidorm open continuously from 08:00 to 20:00 to facilitate their visit to both cemeteries; a visit that increases significantly during these important dates. In addition to extending the usual opening hours of the facilities, the City Council, together with the concessionaire of collective urban transport, has also reinforced the bus service to Sant Jaume cemetery.
