Benidorm approves a subsidy of 100,000 euros to promote women's sport
The Local Government Board of Benidorm City Council has approved this morning a proposal from the Department of Sports to subsidise women's sports in the town with 100,000 euros. This line of aid aims to "promote and strengthen it", according to councillor Javier Jordá, as well as to facilitate women's access to sport through local sports clubs".
The councillor has emphasised that the beneficiaries of this aid will be "the clubs registered in the Municipal Register of Sports Entities of the City Council", each of which may receive a subsidy of up to a maximum of 20,000 euros, as established by the rules themselves, which also state that the principles of publicity, transparency, concurrence, objectivity, equality and non-discrimination will distribute the same.
According to the bases, sporting activities, projects, and programs whose purpose is the promotion and encouragement of non-professional women's sports and which are considered in accordance with the general municipal planning in the matter of sports promoted by entities registered in the Municipal Registry of Sports Entities of the City Council will be eligible for subsidies.
Javier Jordá has stated that the application period for this line of aid will be 15 calendar days from the publication of the bases in the BOP and that the application process must be submitted to the General Registry of the City Council, after having duly completed the model incorporated in the bases, which will be provided to them by the City Council.
As in previous calls, a technical committee will be in charge of evaluating all applications, taking into account criteria such as the age of the club, the number of federated athletes, the organization of sports activities, collaboration with the Council in sports activities and events or the expenses of the federation, refereeing or those incurred for the transfer of women's teams.
Clubs or entities that request aid must be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Registry for at least one year, not for profit, up to date with their tax obligations, and duly justified in the subsidies received in previous years. Activities already programmed by the Council are excluded, as are direct nominative subsidies to entities and clubs that have been granted direct subsidies.
