With these grants, nearly 3 million people are already injected into the local productive fabric

Benidorm approves another remittance of ‘Parenthesis Grants’ with more than 200 new beneficiaries for an amount of more than 450,000 euros

10 August 2021
Benidorm aprueba otra remesa de ‘Ayudas Paréntesis’ con más de 200 nuevos beneficiarios por importe de más de 450.000 euros

These benefits aimed at self-employed people and companies with up to 10 workers can be requested until August 16

The City Council continues helping with ‘Parenthesis Grants’. Last week the second remittance of the new phase of these grants was approved, aimed at professionals and companies with up to 10 workers from a good number of sectors and activities that have been affected by the pandemic. A second remittance in which 457,641.32 euros have been granted to a total of 211 merchants and self-employed in Benidorm, as reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez.
With this second remittance, there are already 410 beneficiaries of this second phase of ‘Parenthesis Grants’ and the amount granted just over 900,000 euros. “To these numbers - the mayor has clarified - we must add those with which the first remittance of 'Parenthesis Grants' was settled, with which 2,032,475.87 euros have already been injected into the economy of more than 850 companies and professionals ”.
Thus, "so far, between the first grant and the two remittances in this second phase, we have practically reached 3 million euros and about 1,300 beneficiaries in our city, who have received an average benefit of almost 2,330 euros" .
The mayor recalled that "the deadline to qualify for the second phase of‘ Paréntesis Grants ’remains open until next August 16." The request must be made through the municipal website, https://sede.benidorm.org. The bases of this second call and the list of activities and sectors that can benefit from these grants are also available at the same website, aimed at businesses with up to 10 workers or professionals who have their registered office or activity in Benidorm.
Toni Pérez stressed that “we continue to support our productive fabric, as we do with the families of Benidorm, to try to mitigate as far as possible the consequences that the economic crisis derived from Covid-19 has had on the activity of the companies and autonomous people of our city, who for the last 16 months have been striving every day to keep their establishments open and the employment they generate ”.
For this reason, "the City Council has tried at all times that these 'Parenthesis Grants' reach the maximum number of local companies and self-employed workers, making two calls and extending terms and beneficiary sectors, incorporating all the CNAEs included by the Consell in the list of sectors affected by the pandemic ”.
For this second phase of ‘Parenthesis Grants’ the financial allocation is about 3.2 million euros, financed by the Generalitat,  Alicante Provincial Council and the City Council. The aid amounts to 2,000 euros per company or self-employed person, to which is added 200 euros 'extra' for each worker registered as of December 31, 2020.
Finally, the mayor recalled that recently several remittances of municipal aid to the hospitality sector have also been approved.
