Benidorm announces the fifteenth edition of the Entrepreneurial Ideas Competition

The Department of Employment, Development and Local Promotion has convened the fifteenth edition of the Entrepreneurial Ideas Competition. Municipal initiative that aims to give viability to new business projects, offering financial support, technical advice and the possibility of opting for facilities in the municipal nursery of  Benidorm Espai Coworking.

The Councilor for Employment, Mª Jesús Pinto, has announced today the rules of the competition organized by the Agency for Employment and Local Development (AEDL), flanked by responsible entities collaborators: Josep Llorca, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of the Marina Baixa (Jovempa); Francisco Juan, of the Valencian Institute of Tourist Technologies (Invat-tur); Mª José Tent, from the Association for the Development of Women Entrepreneurs (Memba); Francesc Pérez, of Obra Social 'La Caixa'; and Joaquín Alcázar, of European Center for Innovative Companies (CEEI) of Elche.

Mª Jesús Pinto highlighted the "important work" committed by the collaborating entities. "Without them," he said, "it would be very difficult to carry out the competition." The contest aims to "promote the entrepreneurial culture and the diversification of the business fabric". It intends to be the necessary "impulse" for the creation of companies and the promotion of employment in our municipality. Pinto has encouraged, finally, to participate to "all entrepreneurs who have a viable idea" and have remembered that many of the winning initiatives in their day "today are companies that are working".

Josep Llorca indicated that this is a prize to which he is "very fond" because young projects are presented as his association that "can be reality" in a short space of time. Francisco Juan has shown all the support of Invat-tur to the winning projects in their first steps. Mª José Tent stressed that "this type of initiative can help make visible great talents". Francesc Pérez recalled the will of the Obra Social 'La Caixa' to "support talent and those who need it most". Finally, Joanquín Alcázar asked participants in this "consolidated contest" to "focus their creativity on defining new companies" to give greater consistency to the local business fabric.

Projects interested in participating in the XV Entrepreneur Ideas Competition have a limit to present their memories in the AEDL on July 1. Regarding the prizes, the first is 2,500 euros and an iPad; the second, 1,500 and an iPad Mini. Two second prizes of 500 euros each will be given to the initiatives that highlight aspects of Benidorm's tourism promotion and responsibility.

Tao, successful initiative

After the presentation of the contest and informally, the winning project of the eleventh edition, Tao Bike, has presented to the councilor and promoters a new model of folding bicycle that sells in the city. This project, presented in 2015, has been consolidated as a reference in the province in this type of electric vehicles and proposes the rental and the realization of ecological routes throughout the Marina Baixa.
