El notable aumento de usuarios de las instalaciones ha obligado a mejorar la capacidad de impulsión de aguas residuales
Benidorm adapts the pumping system at Hermanos Martínez Munuera football fields

The Departments of Sports and Water Cycle have begun work to adapt and improve the wastewater pumping system at the Hermanos Martínez Munuera football fields in the Guillermo Amor Sports Complex. This work, which will be completed next week, involves installing a new pump to pump wastewater from the locker rooms into the sewer system and prevent the problems that have occurred in recent months.
The Councillor for Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, who supervised the work this morning, stated that the problems stemmed from "the high number of users currently at these facilities and the fact that the existing pumping system was not sufficient to meet this new demand."
The councillor noted that the number of users at the old athletics track was "considerably lower" than at present, and the existing pumping system "was adequate." However, this situation has changed radically, necessitating the installation of a new pumping system. "We now have around 700 or 800 children using the fields every day," the councillor revealed.
This new sewage system boost is in addition to the one already installed last year at the sports city for major events, and the existing one at El Moralet.
