Activities of the Sociocultural Association of the Local Police on the occasion of the 179th anniversary

Benidorm Local Police will commemorate on March 1 the one hundred and seventy-ninth anniversary of its foundation. 179 years of service to the people of Benidorm and to the millions of people who come to this town every year.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the Sociocultural Association of the Local Police of Benidorm has organized a series of activities that will culminate on the 4th with an institutional act of tribute in the Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España that will be attended by authorities and social entities.

Next Saturday, February 25, the activities will begin with the traditional petanque tournament, starting at 10:00 in the morning at the facilities of the Mercasa Petanque Club, to which many of the agents go in disguise. On Thursday, March 2, at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm, from 9:30 a.m. there will be paddle tennis and basketball matches and on Friday 3, the Moralet Circuit will host an MTB cycling competition, from 10:00 a.m.

On Friday, starting at 5:00 p.m., the Local Police Headquarters on Calle Grecia will open its doors so that all residents who wish to do so can see its facilities and how the agents work live.

On the weekend, March 4 and 5, it will house the institutional acts with the delivery of recognition and tribute to the agents, on Saturday at 11:00 in the morning and on Sunday a brotherhood meal has been scheduled at 2:30 p.m.

The activities of the 179th anniversary will be completed on Tuesday, March 7, with a morning and afternoon blood donation day; on Sunday 12 with an excursion to Ponoig, starting at 10:00; on Monday the 27th with a conference on suicide prevention, starting at 9:00 in the morning in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall; on Saturday, April 1, with a training course for the use of fireworks aimed at partygoers at the Casa del Fester.
