Toni Perez recalls the obligations of the position that in Benidorm are "more demanding" than the vocation of service itself

16 new agents join Benidorm Local Police

01 February 2022

This morning the institutional act of taking possession of 16 new agents of the Local Police who, from today, serve in the city, was held in the Plenary Hall of the Benidorm City Council.

The civil servants do not access the body for the first time, since a part were interim agents and others have accessed the position due to employment consolidation, having unemployed the function in Benidorm and in other municipalities of the Valencian Community.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, flanked by the councillors of Citizen Security and Human Resources, Lorenzo Martínez and Ángela Zaragozí; the secretary of the City Council, Esteban Capdepón; and the Local Police Commissioner, Juan Fuertes, has presided over the inauguration ceremony, once the new local police officers have taken an oath or promise, have signed the minutes and received the badges that accredit them as municipal agents.

The act has been divided into two consecutive sessions to accommodate the relatives and companions of the officials and comply with the protocol recommended by the health authorities.

After the inauguration, Toni Pérez addressed the attendees to congratulate the new members of the Local Police and remind them that "they will provide an important service, to a great town and, above all, to the people who live here and to all those who choose us to visit us”.

The mayor has reminded him that the obligations entailed by the position of Local Police are even "more demanding, if possible than those demanded of us by our own vocation for service" in Benidorm, since in this city "we are what we are, we dedicate ourselves to what we dedicate ourselves to and you are the first face that receives someone who requires your services”.

To the new members of the Local Police, the mayor has asked them to bear in mind "that behind you is the image of Benidorm". "A personal challenge -he has abounded- that I invite you to maintain as a collective challenge". The mayor has finished his intervention wishing "the greatest success" to the new members of the Local Police.
