The new civil servants began their probationary period today after passing a recruitment process that attracted nearly 400 applicants

Benidorm City Council has welcomed 19 new administrative staff members to its workforce this Thursday. Following a recruitment process involving around 400 applicants, they will now take up positions in various municipal departments where vacancies needed to be filled or additional staff were required to ensure more efficient operations.

Mayor Toni Pérez and Councillor for Human Resources Ana Soliveres welcomed the new recruits on Thursday during a brief meeting, which was also attended by the Head of Personnel and the presidents of the staff council and works committee. Both the mayor and the Human Resources councillor encouraged the new employees to “approach their new responsibilities with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility, as we have no doubt they will”.

The new civil servants will now undertake a three-month probationary period, after which they will formally take up their permanent positions, in accordance with standard public administration procedures.

The recruitment forms part of the City Council’s commitment to “strengthening day-to-day operations and improving services for the public”, according to Soliveres. The councillor explained that this is “one of several recruitment processes launched to fill vacancies across different roles and public-facing services, ranging from caretakers to local police officers”.

“The aim is to gradually reinforce all municipal departments in line with their needs at any given time, while adhering to the deadlines and procedures established by law,” Soliveres concluded.
