The 'Zumbathon' of Anémona gathers more than one thousand people in solidarity in Benidorm
38 athletes run the 'II Trail por Ellas' with Javier Velasco
More than a thousand people have gathered this morning at Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España in Benidorm to receive the 38 athletes who have run the II Trail por Ellas, played by the runner Javier Velasco and to participate in the third edition of 'Zumbathon' in which Jessica Expósito has intervened. Initiatives organized by Anémona (Association of Self-help for Women with Breast Cancer), in collaboration with the councils of Equality and Sports of Benidom City Council.
The councilwoman of Equality, Paquita Ripoll, who has participated in the event with her fellows Ana Pellicer, José Ramón González de Zárate and Angela Llorca, has shown her satisfaction for the high participation "despite the heat" which shows that Benidorm "is a town very committed to people who are having a bad time, in this case women who have breast cancer." Ripoll thanked the "enthusiasm" shown by Anémona and "all women, suffering or not the disease" as "has been demonstrated this morning with the Trail and the Zumbathon."
The president of Anémona, María Botella has confessed, after the arrival of the runners feel "excited" because "the trail is an act with feeling." "Running for 12 hours," she stressed, "is not easy, and economic support is important" but if there is something to highlight from all this experience "is the feeling." Javier Velasco and the athletes who have accompanied him have arrived at the square at 9.50 in the morning, well before the scheduled time. About Zumbathon, Botella has announced that they have sold all the shirts printed for the occasion and has highlighted the numerous participation of monitors. "We have here 25 professionals from Zumba, most of Alicante, also from Valencia, and Italy, and, of course, the support of Jessica Expósito. "
Anémona's activities do not cease. On 1 July will take place the supportive dinner in the Ermita de Sanz. The tickets are now on sale at the association's headquarters, at the Casa del Fester.
