The vision of seven countries through the objective of the artist
‘Viajes’ by Laura Medrano it can already be seen in Espai d’Art Els Tolls
This morning, the exhibition ‘Viajes’ by Laura Medrano has been inaugurated at Espai d’Art Els Tolls in Benidorm. 14 color and black and white images taken by the artist around the world. Medrano has previously exhibited in the city, at Boca del Calvari Museum her ‘Cara a cara’ and on the same stage, in August, ‘Mi visión de Benidorm’.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer; the curator of the exhibition, Alicia Lamarca; other councilors, neighborhood representatives and interested public have accompanied the artist on the first day of the exhibition that will remain open to the public until January 3.
Toni Pérez recalled that thanks to public spaces such like Espai d’Art Els Tolls, the second with Benidorm, you can “enjoy street art”. This time in "a neighborhood with a lot of traffic" thanks to a selection of images that show the visitor "the essence of each country through the unique vision of a great artist."
In ‘Viajes’ you can see “scenes taken by Medrano at home, in China, Peru, Senegal, Iran, Madagascar and New York,” said Ana Pellicer. “A summary of all its exhibitions that we saw in Boca del Calvari and others” exhibited in Barcelona or Zarauz (Guipúzcoa).
The exhibition consists of 8 backlit double-sided panels. "I think it's fantastic," said Medrano, "that a person is walking down the street and encounters artistic manifestations like this." An opinion that is endorsed by the "quality" of the photographs, Alicia Lamarca said, because "they reflect," he said, "the nature of people and that of each country thanks to the objective Laura Medrano."
