This afternoon, at 19:00 hours, more than 300 people will recreate on Poniente Beach the 'D-day', the Normandy Landing

Thousands of people have visited, from yesterday afternoon and throughout the morning, the area of 'airsoft' located in Elche Park in Benidorm, where different exhibitors of the Armed Forces and of military collecting are concentrated, as well as Military camps of the different armies that are stationed in the park on the occasion of the event 'Revive la historia ... de cine', which this afternoon celebrates the recreation of the 'Normandy Landing' on Poniente beach.

The councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; The Councilor for Events, José Ramón González de Zárate; As well as the councilors of Government Lourdes Caselles and Maria Jesus Pinto; And the opposition councilors Conrado Hernández and Bernardo Mira have attended the visit accompanied by the president of Codex Belix, Antonio Lalaguna, as organizer of the event, as well as the president of the Poniente Neighborhood Association, Christian Corriani.

The highlight of this event, which is celebrated throughout the weekend, will be the representation this afternoon, at 19:00 hours on the beach of Poniente de Benidorm, the most decisive operation of the war World War II: Mythical Allied landing in Normandy on June 6, 1944, the well-known 'D-day', in which more than 300 people will participate. The Benidorm City Council, the Codex Belix Association and the Neighborhood Association of Poniente organize, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Defense and the Subdelegation of the Government of Alicante, this historic recreation within an event that celebrates its tenth edition and has activities Ludic, informative, musical and exhibitions that transport the public to the 40's of the last century.

Exhibition of uniforms and miniatures, parades of old military vehicles, musical performances style 40 years in charge of 'The Red Velvets' and' Dr. Bogarde ', and even an exhibition with jumping by the Parachute School' Méndez Parada 'of the Air Force, are part of the programmed activities. On Sunday, at 1300 hours, Operation Avalanche-Salerno 1943 will also be recreated, the landing that meant the entry of allies in southern Italy after defeating the north of the continent neighboring the AfrikaKorps. Previously, there is a floral offering in honor of the 'Caídos por la paz' in which veterans will participate.
