The acting mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez and the acting councilor of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo have received this afternoon at Poniente beach the Spanish Under-19 Football Team that trains Santi Denia.
Since last Sunday the Spanish team is staying at Alfaz del Pi preparing the U-19 Championship that will be played in Armenia from July 14 to 27.
Today it has been the second preparatory day of the three that is planned by the Spanish coach, Santi Denia, choosing Poniente beach to carry out their training day in which a total of 25 players are summoned, including three Valencian footballers: Abel Ruiz (FC Barcelona), Victor Chust (Real Madrid) and Hugo Guillamón (Valencia CF).
The next appointment for the U-19 team will be next Friday May 31 in Yerevan (Armenia) with the draw for the final phase of the European Championship. The eight classified teams are Czech Republic, France, Italy, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Norway, Armenia and Spain. The first two of each group will play the semifinals on July 24 and the grand final will be played on Saturday, July 27.
