The organization receives 170,000 euros for the maintenance of its headquarters and facilities, the promotion of occupational workshops, and the management of transportation for users in Benidorm

Benidorm City Council and Doble Amor center renew their collaboration agreement

31 March 2026
El Ayuntamiento de Benidorm y el centro Doble Amor renuevan el convenio de colaboración

Benidorm City Council and the Doble Amor Association signed a new collaboration agreement this morning, through which the charity will receive €170,000 to support its activities in Benidorm and the surrounding area.

The Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, signed the document along with the Association's president, José Luis Calvo, in the presence of the Councillor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí. The mayor stated that "the grant will be used to carry out activities and promote the social integration of people with disabilities who attend Doble Amor."

According to the agreement, Doble Amor Centre must use the grant to promote occupational workshops for people with disabilities, maintain the association's headquarters and facilities, and manage transportation for Benidorm residents to the Occupational Centre during 2026.

The mayor noted that Doble Amor “has been working for decades to improve the quality of life and social opportunities of its users,” who find in the organisation “a space for learning, training, community, and well-being.” With this grant, Doble Amor will be able to cover part of the salaries of its specialised staff, consulting fees, headquarters maintenance, and user transportation. In this regard, the mayor reiterated “the Benidorm City Council's commitment to the association and the work it does to promote the integration of people with disabilities, to foster their employment opportunities, and to help them reach their full personal potential, involving the families of these students.”

The City Council has once again determined that “the outstanding work carried out by the Doble Amor Association and its direct collaboration with the City Council in implementing activities and programs for people with disabilities and their families makes it deserving of municipal funding to enable the achievement of its laudable and selfless social goals.”

Doble Amor is a non-profit organisation founded in 1971 and declared a Public Interest Entity by the Council of Ministers in September 1979. It operates an Occupational Centre in the l’Horta area of Benidorm that serves more than fifty people with intellectual disabilities, aged 18 to 65, from across the Marina Baixa region. The centre employs a dozen professionals providing direct care and support services.
