Social Welfare resumes the 'Coneixement' campaign to minimize the risks of excessive alcohol and drug consumption

07 November 2022
Campaña Coneiximent.

The Unit for Community Prevention of Addictive Behaviors (UPCCA) of the Social Welfare Department of Benidorm City Council recovers this year the 'Coneixement' campaign, whose objective is to promote that the Festes Majors Patronals take place in a healthy atmosphere, in accordance with the regulations in force and that the risks derived from the consumption of alcohol and other drugs are minimized, especially among minors.

The motto chosen this year is "Fiestas are much more than you imagine" and seeks to promote knowledge and enjoyment of them through the numerous events that are scheduled and thus enrich the vision that people have of them.

The Smart Office DTI and the municipal radio station have also participated in this campaign with the production of two 65-second videos, two radio spots, and two graphics with photos and advice, all in Spanish and Valencian. The videos and spots are starring male and female students aged 15 to 17, from various secondary schools.

The communication media, schools, departments of the City Council, the Penyes Association, and the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals collaborate in its dissemination with the label #coneixementfmpb2022. This audiovisual campaign will be active from today until November 16 and is completed with recreational activities such as 'Penyes Day', and educational activities such as some talks given by the Local and National Police to 4th ESO students about risks and current regulations on alcohol and drugs.

The councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, indicated that this campaign "does not only seek to launch an institutional message to the public but also for the whole of society so that consciences are stirred and we understand that, as adults, we must review the model that we show our young people about how to live the celebrations”.

Llorca added that the campaign “seeks to give a richer and deeper vision of the Festes Majors Patronals, instilling values based on culture, education, and health”.
