Organist Javier Sáez and the Alicante Chamber Choir will be the stars of the International Organ Festival this Friday
The Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna will host another performance of the 13th Benidorm International Organ Festival tomorrow, Friday, the seventh concert of the year. This time, the recital features organist Javier Sáez and the Alicante Chamber Choir, who will perform a program combining solo organ pieces with choral accompaniment.
The Councillor for Culture of Benidorm City Council, Jaime Jesús Pérez, reminded everyone that, as usual, the concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. and admission is free until the church reaches capacity. He also noted that “we are fortunate to have an organ like the one in the Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna, an instrument of exceptional quality, highly valued by professionals and the public alike, which allows us to offer high-caliber concerts, as can be seen in each of the scheduled events.” Therefore, he publicly invited residents and visitors to “come this Friday and experience it for themselves, enjoying this new recital.”

Performers
Javier Sáez holds a Higher Diploma in Performance from the Manuel Massotti Litel Higher Conservatory of Music in Murcia, specialising in harpsichord and organ, under the tutelage of Javier Artigas. He completed a Master's degree in Musicology, Music Education, and Early Music Performance in Barcelona. He currently teaches harpsichord at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Castilla-La Mancha and continues his concert career as a soloist and with ensembles of various types.
Joining him will be the Alicante Chamber Choir, a recently formed choir created to support the activities of the early music department at the José Tomás Conservatory of Music. Composed of various professional and amateur musicians, the choir focuses primarily on Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, while also exploring other styles and historical periods.
The next event of the XIII Benidorm International Organ Festival will take place on December 13th with the Christmas concert and will feature organist Paco Amaya and baritone Christian Costea.
