The municipal library donates the food collected in its solidarity campaign to the Red Cross
Benidorm Library has delivered to Cáritas the food collected during its annual solidarity campaign to support families in the city facing economic hardship, through the Red Cross. This initiative, part of the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage, concludes the campaign, which ran from December 9th to January 30th under the slogan "Your gesture feeds," and included a book as a gift for everyone who contributed.
Councillor Ana Pellicer explained that this campaign, through the social function of the public library, aims "to support those most in need and encourage the participation and solidarity of our residents," while also expressing her gratitude for the contributions of library users and the Red Cross, which made this initiative a success once again this year.
Among the products collected this year, over 65 liters of milk; 72 liters of milkshakes; 25 packages of cookies and muffins; 15 kilograms of cocoa and coffee powder; 16 packages of pastries; 21 packages of shortbread and almond cookies; six chocolate bars; seven bags of nuts; 66 cans of preserves; 17 packages of legumes; 11 bags of soup; eight packages of sugar; and three jugs of oil. All of this will be distributed by the Red Cross to its food program beneficiaries.
