The exhibition, organized by 'La Caixa' Foundation and Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum, has come to Benidorm organized by the Department of Culture. An exhibition that "until yesterday [Monday] had been visited by of 13,100 people ”, has specified the councilman responsible for the department, Jaime Jesús Pérez.

The councillor has transferred that, of those visitors "approximately 1,200 chose to visit this exhibition with commented visits", "for one hour in duration, and the express 30 minutes, both are offered in the two official languages: Spanish and Valencian ”.

Jaime Jesús Pérez recalled that “Picasso's Guernica is one of the best known, reproduced, admired and reinterpreted works in history. An icon of the 20th century ”. The exhibition includes "the genesis of the creation of the painting and its vicissitudes - Pérez clarified - since it was exhibited at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937, already converted into an anti-war emblem".

'Picasso. Guernica's journey 'also reflects "the long period of time that takes place from its creation until its return to Spain, after the restoration of democracy, for forty years it was exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York", (MoMA) . Jaime Jesús Pérez specified that the painting "came to Spain in 1981, was exhibited in Casón de Buen Retiro in Madrid until 1992 and from there it went to Reina Sofía Museum, where it is now on permanent display."

‘La Caixa’ Foundation exhibition, Jaime Jesús Pérez explained, has been installed “on two trailers of 100 m2 each mounted in a line next to Paseo de Levante”. The air-conditioned infrastructure "constantly renews and purifies the air" and for the safety of all the people who visit it, the strict protocol dictated by the health authorities before the Covid-19 is observed at all times.
