Non-registered persons may park on even or odd days depending on the number plate of their vehicles

Mobility regulates the use of 'Las Terrazas' free parking for non-residents

28 June 2019
Movilidad regula el uso del aparcamiento gratuito ‘Las Terrazas’ por parte de los no residentes

The Department of Mobility has decided to regulate the use of the free parking of 'Las Terrazas' - located at the confluence of the avenues Europa and Mediterráneo - by drivers not registered in Benidorm to ensure "the rotation of vehicles," as reported today the councilman of the area, José Ramón González de Zárate, who has stressed that "residents will continue to park in the same conditions they have done so far, without restrictions."

The formula chosen by the City Council to regulate the use of this parking by non-residents in Benidorm is to allow parking on alternate days depending on the registration of the vehicle. In this way, De Zárate has indicated, "vehicles with a license plate can park on even days of the month and vehicles with an odd license plate will do so on odd days", thus preventing non-residents from making use of this free parking uninterrupted for a period of time exceeding 24 hours.

The mayor of Mobility stressed that "with this measure we want to avoid people leaving their car parked on the beachfront during all their vacations, limiting the rotation of vehicles." "We want people who want to spend the day at the beach or those who work nearby to park without problems and for this it is essential that there is rotation," he said.

De Zárate recalled that "people who come to spend a few days in Benidorm and do not plan to move their vehicle during the holidays, have the opportunity to use any of the many free parking places located at the entrances to the city."

The Department of Mobility has begun to signal the parking lot of Las Terrazas with this new regulation, which will come into force next Monday, July 1. From that moment, the vehicles that make an unauthorized use of the car park may be removed by the municipal crane.
