Mendez Manturiano from Madrid wins the XXVII Benidorm Blind Chess Open
After a hard-fought final game, Miguel Eduardo Méndez Manturiano from Madrid was proclaimed the winner, leaving Albert Olivera Gutiérrez and Manuel Pimienta Sánchez in second and third place in the qualifying table. Carmen Lago Carballo was also awarded as the first woman in the Benidorm Open ranking.
The Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, highlighted the support of Benidorm City Council for sports for people with functional diversity, she summoned them to return to Benidorm in the next edition and showed sub admiration for all the participants.
From the Federation, the organizing committee and the ONCE Delegation in Benidorm, a plaque was delivered to Benidorm City Council thanking them for their support of this sports initiative.
Along with Councilor Cebreros, Gema León, general secretary of the FEDC, Anabel Morente, ONCE Benidorm delegate, and Ana Pellicer, first deputy mayor of Benidorm City Council, presented the awards. It was attended by the Councilor for the Environment, Health and Beaches, Mónica Gómez, and the mayor Juan Balastegui.
