The Department of Equality has opened registration for the 5th edition of 'Documóvil', the film and genre project "aimed at students from 3rd year of ESO to 2nd year of Bachiller and training cycles" and in which "participating students start in audiovisual production, creating short films that have gender equality as their central and recurring theme”, as explained by the councillor of the department, Ángela Zaragozí.

Benidorm students interested in participating must fill out the questionnaire available at https://benidorm.org/es/ayuntamiento/concejalias/igualdad/violencia-de-… before December 20.
Zaragozí pointed out that "we are talking about a consolidated project that contributes to raising awareness of gender equality, especially among the younger population, to whom we give a voice and the opportunity to express and capture their perspective on this reality and its edges, including gender violence. "But also -he added-, the result of the project reaches the whole of society since the audiovisual works of 'Documóvil' are publicly exhibited".

Within the 'Documóvil' project, which is totally free for the participants, the students receive audiovisual training and also in gender equality; theoretical and practical knowledge that they later translate into the short films they write, script, and shoot with professional teams.

The councillor has indicated that "to date 'Documóvil' has led to the recording and production of 22 short films, with an appreciable evolution at the audiovisual level from one edition to another, to the extent that they seem to be works filmed by professionals, as they have transferred us the people in the sector who have been able to see them”. “It is, therefore, a project that also makes visible the talent of our young people”, she added.

Specifically, in the fourth edition, this 2022, six stories were shot: Signed, Olivia', directed by Andrea Díaz Blanes and Nicole Cabeytú Attwel, 'More than a movie' by Claudia Roggen Mira, 'Amentia', by Nathan Marón Lupsa, 'Alternative Design', directed by Wassim Atiki, 'Game Over', by Marina Rodríguez Bou and 'Red Wool', by Alicia Moreno Djafer-Cherif.

Zaragozí stressed that "through 'Documóvil' the participating students not only develop their creativity, but also an enriching exchange of ideas and perspectives is generated, and a very interesting collaborative dynamic that makes each person get involved in the project of their peers at the level of interpretation, scriptwriting or post-production”.

In addition, "in recent editions, we have verified that the project has also aroused interest beyond the working group itself since more and more people who are fans of theater or acting are offering to collaborate on short films."
