The JGL has resolved the second round of the call for support for the creation of new companies
Employment allocates 74,000 euros to support 75 entrepreneurial projects
The Local Government Board (JGL) has resolved the second and final municipal aid to support the creation of new companies and the self-employed, raising the resources allocated by the City Council to 74,000 euros to support the start-up of 75 entrepreneurial projects in the city during the year 2022.
The Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, detailed that "in this second round, of 35,200 euros, the aid has reached 36 beneficiaries, who have received a benefit of 800 or 1,200 euros depending on the case." A remittance that adds to the one approved weeks ago for an amount of 38,800 and with which the request of another 39 entrepreneurs was met.
Gómez reported that "initially a credit of 40,000 euros was reserved for these aids, an amount that has been increased by an additional 40,000 euros to be able to serve all the self-employed and companies that met the requirements to participate in this call, with which it is intended to make it easier for these entrepreneurs to launch their projects”.
Among the projects included in this consignment there are catering establishments; hairdressing and aesthetics; audiovisual activities; real estate; online commerce and personal training and dietetic services.
This line of aid is aimed at entrepreneurs who have started their activity in the city in the first three quarters of 2022 and who have been in operation for at least four months.
Gómez recalled that "during the pandemic, and given the complicated economic and labor situation generated by the health crisis, it was decided to double the amount of aid received by beneficiaries to promote the implementation of new activities in Benidorm at a particularly complex time" . Thus, the aid went from 400 to 800 euros and from 600 to 1,200 euros depending on the cases, "amounts that have been maintained in the successive calls that we have made since then."
In this way, entrepreneurs who establish themselves as self-employed workers with tax domicile in Benidorm and registered in the city receive 800 euros of help; while those who also process an opening license at the City Council receive 1,200 euros. In addition, an aid of 800 euros is also granted to the self-employed with tax domicile in Benidorm, who are not registered in the city, but who process the license to open their business in the municipality.
The councilor stressed that "these direct grants are one of the lines of support for new business initiatives developed by the Agency for Employment and Local Development, which also provides a constant advisory service to people who decide to take this step." In addition, "it offers a 'coworking' space for entrepreneurs so that they can start their activity".
