El Ayuntamiento incorpora a los primeros 18 jóvenes menores de 30 años contratados con fondos europeos

Benidorm has incorporated today the first young people under 30 years hired by European funds, and who will serve in different municipal departments for a year. In total, 38 young people have been hired under the EMCUJU (18 graduates) and EMPUJU (20 non-graduates) programs, aimed at promoting the employment of unemployed children under 30. Some programs that are included in the 'Avalem Joves +' plan of the Valencian Employment and Training Service (LABORA) and that are co-financed by the European Union through the Operational Program of the European Social Fund (ESF) of the Valencian Community 2014-2020 .

The first  young people to join their positions have been the beneficiaries of the EMCUJU program, which will carry out their duties in the municipal Smart Office and in Education, Social Welfare, Reception and Technology departments, among others. Throughout the year, these young people will gain professional experience while providing a public utility service. For this program, the City Council has received a grant of 289,045.19 euros.

This morning, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez; and the councillor of Human Resources, Ángela Zaragozí, have welcomed these young people in an informative talk prior to joining their positions.

In the coming days, the EMPUJU program is also scheduled to begin, with which 20 young people have been hired to work as a telephone receptionist (12) and as maintenance laborers for municipal facilities (8). This program is funded with 320,084.03 euros, from the European Social Fund and the Youth Employment Initiative.

When drawing the profiles for these 38 hires, priority has been given to positions linked to the fields of social care and innovation and sustainability; as well as to reinforce different areas of municipal management and the care of the urban scene
