The main proposals have to do with the maintenance and cleaning of green areas

The City Council is collecting suggestions from Poniente residents to improve the neighborhood with the "A pie de Calle" campaign

El Ayuntamiento recoge las sugerencias de los vecinos de Poniente para mejorar el barrio con la campaña ‘A pie de calle’

"A pie de Calle" campaign added another day today, this time with a meeting with residents of Poniente neighbourhood. The event was organised to gather residents' opinions and suggestions for improving the area "through active listening," according to Ana Pellicer, Councillor for Citizen Participation.

Although the residents in attendance presented some proposals for improving the neighbourhood, the majority of contributions focused on improved maintenance, especially in garden areas, parks, and areas where dirt can accumulate. Residents, however, acknowledged the difficulty of tackling such tasks, "as this is an area that has seen significant urban development in recent years and includes areas that were not included in the previous parks and gardens contract," explained Councillor José Ramón González de Zárate.

The councillor explained to residents that the new contract has been operational since September 1, now covers areas that were not previously included and assured them that "the service will improve significantly and will gradually become noticeable in the coming months."

The Councillor for Street Cleaning, Luis Navarro, also addressed the proposals he has received to improve street cleaning and urban waste collection. He also indicated that once the new contract is in place, there are aspects that will be improved, but he also appealed to citizens' awareness to respect the rules when depositing their waste, picking up pet waste, and leaving belongings on public streets.

The Councillor for Urban Scene and Mobility, Francis Muñoz, was also present on today's visit and outlined some of the actions planned by his department. The municipal delegation, however, insisted that residents can also make their needs known in the form of proposals through participatory budgets, "which is a fundamental tool to help us achieve the city we want," Pellicer concluded.
